芋まきデビュー！Debut planting potatoes!

G.W.後半頃から

旭川や美瑛でも

お花見ができるように

なりました。

Cherry-blossom season 

in Asahikawa  and Biei .

そんな頃、畑では

いよいよ芋まきです。

At this time, we used to plant potatoes.

今シーズンは

臨時ヘルパーのミッチと

Timが芋まきデビュー！

Mitchi and Tim helping us
 planting potatoes this season.

For them it was an experience.

 トラクターの後ろに座って

芋まき機の自動回転トレイに

芋が重ならず、きちんと

ひとつひとつ並んで入っているか

チェックするお仕事です。

They had to check potatoes lining up 

one by one properly

 in the automatic rotary tray.

It is a simple work, 

but speedy hands are important.

単純だけど、若干

 手先のスピードが要求されます。

Working seriously.

真剣な後ろ姿。

緊張してる？

きっと７月上旬には

きれいに並んだ

じゃが芋の花畑が

見られることでしょう！

Surely potatoes flowers lining up 

will be seen in June !

連休ですね。 Golden Week!

昨日、４月３０日は

連休の中日の定休日。

いいお天気でした。

Golden Week is 

a period of spring holidays

 where many holidays are piled up 

from the end of April

 to the beginning of May.

こんな日は

ゆっくり休み・・・・

ではなく、玉葱を

定植しました。

One sunny day of G. W. 

we planted onion seedlings out 

in the field. 

ステファンは腰を痛めているので

今回は、助っ人Tim君に

機械植えを伝授。

Because Stefan must think of 

his lower back,

he taught wwoofer Tim  

how to use the planting machine.

まっすぐ、まっすぐ！

気をつけて。

Go straight !  Go , go!

師匠、なかなか傍を

離れられず・・・

順調ですよ！

The work went smoothly.

Good job!

でもなぜか、最後は

やっぱり自分でも・・・。

やりたくなっちゃう!?

But finally 

Stefan could  not help taking over.

ランドカフェの丘の上では

ただ今、カタクリの花が

満開です。

By the way,
the flowers of Japanese dog's tooth violet 

are in full bloom now
on the hilltop at Land Cafe .

看板をきれいに塗り替え

リフレッシュ！

Our signboard is refreshed.

This brilliant yellow color invites you  

to our cafe.

この黄色い看板が

目印ですよー！

オープン数日前から

腰を痛めてしまった

夫ですが、

痛みをこらえつつ

がんばって看板作りに

励んでくれました。

Few days before opening the cafe for spring,

my husband's hurt his lower back. 

Disc herniation.

It was hard to put up the signboard.

It's done.

But he was not satisfied.

He felt it was too high and too simple.

目立つように高さを出したら、

なんだかヒョロっと殺風景。

He placed an old plow under the sign board.

Looks good!

なので古い農機具の

プラウを飾ってみました。

なかなか、いい感じ。

でも、まだちょっと・・・

と納得のいかない夫。

But he still didn't seemed to be satisfied.

How about this?

A shovel and a pitchfork.

こんな感じはどう？

さすが！

カフェのお食事マークを

農機具で表現。

いいね。いいね。

ここまできたら、

もう止まりません。

Ones started he could not stop.
He begun to refresh the plow as well.

 看板のあまったペンキで

農機具も化粧直し。

ニュージーランドからの助っ人

Tim ものってきました！

A great help.

この部分には

この色入れたいよね、とか。

Both of them got to work, 

work and work.

ふたりの勢いが前と違います。

そして、完成！

ただ色を塗りなおすだけの予定から

次々におもしろいことに

なっちゃった。

Complete!

Both seemed to be satisfied. 

You should do everything happily 

even if it is work.

After a long winter the signboard 

has to be refreshed with new paint.

We will start our Cafe 

from coming Sunday!

 20th.of April.

いよいよ今度の日曜日、

4月20日からカフェを始めます。

今シーズンも

よろしくお願いいたします。

but everyday 

the sun continues to work hard.

日々、太陽が

がんばってくれてます。

フットパスも午前中なら、

長靴で沈まず

If you visit us early in the morning, 

you can walk 

around on top of the frozen snow. 

Actually this time of the year 

nearly everywhere you want. 

No limits.

２人の母と。 Two mothers！

行ってきました。

この春、私にとっては

３年ぶりのドイツでした。

I've visited Germany with my mother 

after a three years' absence. 

私の母と一緒に、

娘が勉強しているBONNを覘き、

そこから東へ２時間ほど列車に乗って

主人のお母さんが暮らしているLIPPSTADTも

訪ねてきました。

お母さんが住むのは住宅街。

でも、数百ｍ歩けば

LIPPE川が流れ、

気持ちのよい森や畑が広がります。

 We visited Lippstadt 

where my mother in law lives.

There is a small river near her house. 

It is nice to walk around.

自転車道路も充実してます。

いいですね。

でも私が１番好きなところは

他でもない、OMAのキッチン。

OMAとはドイツ語の「おばあちゃん」

主人のお母さんのことです。

This is my favorite place! 

 OMA's kitchen!!

OMA means grandma in German.
So my children call her OMA.

古い家具を

自分でカラフルにペイントし

大切に使っています。

 From here comes heartful yummy food!

ここから、いつも

心のこもった手料理が

登場します！

一緒に居た頃は「今日は何？」と

楽しみに覗き込みながら、

少しずつ

ドイツ料理を覚えたものです。

この日はブロッコリーのスープと

チキンレバー煮込み。

甘くないパンケーキに

クルッと巻いていただきます。

おいしかったー！

80代の2人の母と

春の穏やかな1日を過ごしました。

I could spend a lovely sunny 

day with two 80's mothers

in this spring.
